Eighty-five-year-old: I have regained my health and my appetite for life!

I’m an 85-year-old former lawyer, and for many years I needed blood transfusions every five weeks. When my blood count dropped, I lost all my energy. But now—it’s been 15 weeks since my last transfusion. My blood count has come back completely normal, to the great surprise of my doctors.

Unfortunately, none of them seemed interested in understanding what I had done differently.

For years, I asked what I could do to improve my blood count. The only advice I ever received was, “eat some blood pudding.”

The Turning Point: Learning to Breathe Again

Breathing instructor Anita Johansson initially helped me treat back problems with massage and craniosacral therapy. Once my pain subsided, she noticed something else: my breathing was "jerky and gaspy". She began teaching me how to breathe properly.

That’s when everything changed.

I now understand that an important function of the lungs is to clean the blood. My previous shallow breathing had been limiting that function—and over time, it had a major impact on my health and blood count.

Feeling Strong Again

I am very grateful for what Anita has done for me. Since improving my breathing, I’ve regained not only my health—but also my appetite for life! I feel more energetic and happier, and I can’t stop telling everyone I know how they should breathe!

After years of inactivity due to exhaustion, I now go for walks, ride my exercise bike, and even do some light weight training. It feels amazing.

So it’s with huge pride that I have decided to share my story—a story of reclaiming strength, joy, and vitality through something as simple and powerful as breathing.
